This 1930's bath had a typical small allotment of barely 57 square feet. With the new owner's wish list, this original bath had big changes coming and big challenges to overcome.
Mission: Create a soothing atmosphere, provide a great shower for the daughter and a relaxing air bath for mom to enjoy by candlelight.
Challenge: Create enough storage for teen's bath, provide a tub and shower without crowding the room AND do this within the constraints of keeping the original window and toilet location.
Solution: Studs were rotated to allow a larger sized tub with a deck surround. A hinged, pivoting glass shower door holds shower water in without "boxing" in the tub. The vanity and tub deck were notched to maintain proper clearances and provide a crisp design element. A soft, atmospheric blue chosen for the walls and glass backsplash evokes serenity and helps to visually expand the space.
